How to create an insho
A few slides for writers and artists
Works is Insho's curated space for original writing and art: poetry, short prose, painting, sculpture, photography, woodwork, and other handmade and studio craft.
You'll need a free account to submit. It only takes a minute.
Works are reviewed before publishing.
Guidelines: Up to 12 slides. Share something you made yourself. Editing tools, including AI-assisted ones, are fine. Work created entirely by AI isn't a fit for Works.
Choose Writing or Art when you build your insho. That's the category your piece will be judged in.
The Insho Works Prize
Two categories, three prizes in each:
- Writing: poetry, short prose, and other original writing
- Art: painting, drawing, sculpture, photography, ceramics, and other visual work
- 1st place: $300
- 2nd place: $200
- 3rd place: $100
Free to enter. Make your piece as an insho with 3 to 12 slides and submit it to Works by December 30, 2026. The editor of Insho will choose 10 finalists in each category, and all finalists' work will be featured on Insho. Winners will be announced in January 2027.
