Works
The Insho Works Prize: Rules
How do I enter?
Submitting is simple. Create a free account at insho.io, then build your insho with 3 to 12 slides: your poem, flash fiction, short prose, or artwork, plus any text you’d like to add, such as an artist statement, a process note, or a short bio. Each slide holds up to 600 characters, about 1,200 words in total. It takes a few minutes, and there’s no entry fee. Submit it to Works by 11:59 p.m. Eastern Time, December 30, 2026. You can submit one piece in each category. When you build your insho, choose Writing or Art. That’s the category your piece will be judged in.
Who can enter
Anyone 18 or older, anywhere PayPal can send payments.
What counts
Your entry must be your own original work, and you must own the rights to everything in it: text, images, and any sound. Editing tools, including AI-assisted ones, are fine. Work generated entirely by AI isn’t eligible. Work you’ve shared elsewhere before is welcome.
Judging
The editor of Insho will choose 10 finalists in each category and the top three in each. Entries are judged on originality, craft, and how well the piece uses the insho format. All decisions are final.
Finalists and winners
All finalists’ work will be featured on Insho. Winners will be announced in January 2027 and contacted by email. Prizes are paid by PayPal within 30 days of the announcement. Winners are responsible for any taxes on their prize.
Your rights
You keep ownership of your work. By entering, you give Insho permission to feature your piece on the site and share it on Insho’s social media accounts, with credit to you.
